UMWELT is able to execute simulations of the dispersion of pollutants using particular softwares.
This forecast allows us to evaluate the enviromental impact and to find solutions to decrease the quantity and/or the negative effects on the enviroment

CALWin is a software made for Microsoft Windows that allows the management of CALMET models (meteorological model) and CALPUFF (diffusion model) and their postprocessors PRTMET and CALPOST, developed by Earth Tech Inc.
This system allows the preparations of all the input data needed for the execution of the mathematical models cited, and the numerical and graphical analysis (based on an GIS MAPX enviroment) of the results produced.
With the CALPUFF model its possible to simulate various scenarios of space-time evolution of emissions of various nature (areal, point-like, linear and volumetrical), which vary with time, simulating removal phenomenons (dry and humid) and simple chemical interactions.
This system ables us to calculate the hourly concentration of the simulated pollutants and the areas of depositation. CALPUFF was proposed for the inclusion of it in te Guideline on Air Quality Models of the EPA and is in the advised models from APAT (Italian agency for the protection of the environment and for technical services) for the evaluation and management of air quality.
CALPUFF is appliable in any situation where simple gaussian models wont represent an acceptable solution.
